Gislaine is an industrial pharmacist and patent expert at Licks Attorneys’ Rio de Janeiro office, where she joined in 2023. Her activities include patent training and development, coordination of data collection for the production of quantitative and qualitative analyzes, and representing the firm in academic, scientific, and corporate events, including making visits, writing articles, and developing seminars for clients and potential clients.

Before joining Licks Attorneys, she worked at the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BRPTO), between 2016 and 2022, as a patent examiner for cosmetics, medical products, pharmaceuticals, and drugs. During this period, she also served as a representative of the Patent Directorate in the BRPTO’s Digital Transformation Task Force, in addition to having led the project that implemented the Office’s first hackathon and co-authoring the e-Patents 4.0 Project, part of the BRPTO’s Action Plan.

She began her career in 2006 at Cognis (currently BASF), where she was responsible for developing and applying cosmetic products for the Skin Care market. From 2007 to 2016, she held various positions as a Scientist at Johnson & Johnson, where she had the opportunity to lead and execute local, regional and global projects in technology transfer, compliance, cost reduction, and business continuity, as well as qualitative and quantitative studies with consumers. During this period she worked with several brands, such as Listerine®, Johnson´s®, Johnson´s Baby®, Neutrogena®, RoC®, Band-Aid®, among others. In addition, she supported the creation of the department responsible for managing the portfolio of raw materials used in cosmetic products for all brands in Latin America and worked for 4 months at Johnson & Johnson Colombia leading local and regional projects.
