Gabriel Siqueira is a Telecommunications Engineer and Patent Specialist who joined Licks Attorneys’ Rio de Janeiro office in 2019 to work with intellectual property, mainly with prosecution of patent applications at the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BRPTO), with emphasis on telecommunications field. Mr. Siqueira performs searches, analyzes and reports technical opinions from the BRPTO and prepares briefs to comply with said technical opinions. As a member of Licks Attorneys’ technical staff, he also assists the litigation team with his technical background in the telecommunications field. In particular, Mr. Siqueira has experience in assisting litigations involving Standard-Essential Patents (SEP) and has knowledge of the Brazilian Patent Statute, normative instructions, and examination guidelines issued by the Brazilian PTO, as well as the main intellectual property treaties.
