The BRPTO published on its Official gazette #2683 of today, June 07, 2022, a notice informing that, as of July 01, 2022, biological sequence listings must be presented following WIPO Standard ST.26 (XML format), instead of the currently accepted WIPO Standard ST.25 (TXT format). Patent applications filed until June 30, 2022 that included sequence listings in the ST.25 standard must maintain such format, in case of resubmission of the sequence listing during prosecution. The WIPO Sequence tool, developed by WIPO for creating, editing and verifying sequence listings in the new XML format, will be available for download at the BRPTO’s website. For further information on this matter, please contact us at patents@lickslegal.com. We will be glad to assist you.
